Thorium1.12
Publisher Description
"Thorium" app details how thorium can be transformed into energy.
Nuclear bonds contains a million times the energy of chemical bonds. Thorium is abundant. Thorium can be converted into energy through nuclear fission. When doing so, thorium produces far less long-lived nuclear waste than fissioning uranium in today's reactors.
A series of educational videos first introduce thorium and the concept of fission, then contrast the use of thorium in a Molten Salt Reactor (MSR) against today's reactors, solar and wind.
Version History New edit of primary video, 4h additional content. 1.12 06/09/2017 Bug fix. 1.11 06/15/2016 Finally, the addition of Thorium Remix 2016. This deprecates "Th" chapters and presents the Thorium story in a much improved narrative. 1.10 06/10/2016 Added new video chapter. Deleted weakest video chapters. Resequenced chapters. Watching from start to finish now a very different experience. 1.09 10/12/2014 Part 10 of "Th" thorium documentary now public. Latest iteration is included, and Th10 sharing enabled. Th10 is an hour in length. It covers past nuclear disasters: Three Mile Island, Chernobyl and Fukushima. How can we make the safest nuclear reactor possible? 1.06 02/20/2014 Th09 (Chapter 9 of "Th") flipped to Public. Sharing features enabled.
Iterated Th10, but still Unlisted. Sharing features still disabled. Th10 now over 1 hour in length... this is a bloated chapter with some repeated content. But narrative is mostly what I'm aiming for, and so feedback is now welcome. 1.05 02/11/2014 Early edits of "Th" Part 9 and "Th" Part 10 are now watchable. Social sharing of Part 9 and Part 10 is disabled, and will not be enabled until those chapters are complete. 1.04 01/22/2014 "Th" thorium documentary now has 8 chapters. Playlists are abandoned, as YouTube seems unable to support the feature reliably. Improved propagation tools. Updated for iOS7. 1.03 11/26/2013 Better YouTube Playlist support for "Th" documentary. 1.0.2 07/29/2013 Adjusted icon. 2 new videos: A tour of NASA Space Flight Center and David LeBlanc discussing advantages of Molten Salt Reactors [MSR]. 1.01 06/22/2013 1.0 05/31/2013
